Who I am – Raising a Family in Torah
January 4, 2018
A little about me! What do I know about raising a family in Torah?!
First and foremost I am a follower of the Messiah which means that I follow His Fathers commands/instructions. I am a wife to a wonderful man, who is a humble, yet strong leader and covering for our family. I am a mother of 6...yes six, children (2 from a previous marriage). As of January 2018 they are 13, 11, 5, 3 1/2 and 4 months.
I was raised Lutheran, but felt something was missing since about the 9th grade, but never really got any answers until I was in my late 20s. That is when I met my husband. He is the one that taught me to think for myself....and read the Bible for myself.
I work outside the house in a hospital a couple days a week, I own a business working from home, and help my husband with his business (I teach karate classes to 3-5 yr. olds).
As far as my family goes, it ranges greatly! I have some members who have no real understanding of what I believe, some of which don’t really care, some are downright angered by what I believe, and some are totally onboard!
My life since coming into Torah has been flipped upside down then right side up only to be turned sideways then turned straight to its correct direction. It’s amazing how our Father can work in our lives! Sometimes it’s as plain as day, other times we only see it with hind sight. There are other times when we only know He’s working because we have faith!
We as a family had to learn how to deal with raising children that have a father who has completely different values, and how to deal with school systems that had no understanding of our beliefs. We have overcome so many obstacles, yet we know we have so many more to face as we continue to raise our family in this worldly world.
I hope that I can help you, encourage you, motivate you, and maybe even give some comic relief sometimes….as you join me in
